The boxing community rarely mentions Hurd's name when discussing the pound-for-pound best in the sport. Hurd's money fight was supposed to be against Jermell Charlo. That fight was delayed a bit when Charlo was upset by Tony Harrison in December 2018.

Until Hurd gets that kind of fight, he'll likely stay underappreciated–especially among casual fans. Williams' lone loss came at the hands of Jermell's twin brother Jermall back in 2016. Since then he has reeled off four straight victories to set up his second world title opportunity. The Fox show has an early start, which could work in its favor on a busy sports Saturday.

Undercard

The PBC website doesn't mention a televised undercard bout, but if there is one, it will likely be Paulus Ambunda vs. Stephen Fulton. It's a super bantamweight tilt for Ambunda's IBO title, and Fulton is 15-0.

What Else Will Be On?

Because the Hurd-Williams card starts at 8 pm ET, it won't overlap with most of the combat sports events also on tap for Saturday. The Fox show should be wrapping up as ESPN's broadcast of the Miguel Berchelt-Francisco Vargas-led event is beginning. That doesn't start until 10 pm ET.

Most of Fox's competition for viewers, at least for combat sports fans, will come from the UFC and Bellator. Both MMA promotions have major events on Saturday with prelims that will run through the Fox show. UFC 237's mid-level prelims start at 8 pm on ESPN as well. There are a pair of aging legends competing on the ESPN portion of the UFC's event. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira takes on Ryan Spann in the featured prelim, and the legendary BJ Penn faces another long-time fan favorite Clay Guida.
